《了凡四训》

一个人叫“了凡”，小时候他妈找人给算命: “这个人活到三十来岁就得死了”。

了凡想改命，他要积德行善。等考上进士之后又做官，做官之后他就积德，利用官职多给百姓一些方便、多给百姓一些好处，遇到天灾的时候，他多用政府的资源救济百姓解脱贫困之苦，他积了大德行了！这个人还儿女双全，活到七八十岁。

这就是“改命法”, 当有了慈悲心、还有行动，就积德行善了。

<Liao Fan’s Four Lessons>
.
There lived a person named Liao Fan. When he was a little boy, his mother engaged the service of a fortune-teller to look into his fate but was told that he would only live to his 30s.
.
To change his fate, Liao Fan must accumulate merits. He passed the imperial examinations and became an officer.
.
With his authority, he started to accumulate merits by bringing more benefits for the welfare of the people.
.
When there were natural disasters, he used the government resources to help the people and free them from poverty.
.
He thus accumulated merit and virtue. He was blessed with a son and a daughter, and lived into his 70s.
.
This is a way to transform fate. When there is a compassionate heart, coupled with actions, we will accumulate merits.
